I have to admit, I also have a rural west-coast perception that everything east of the Mississippi is paved, and I know that's not true.

Oh, no... take a trip Back East sometime! :o)

I admit I've only seen just over half of the fifty states, so I've got certain perceptions of other states as well (that are probably wrong). There are certain parts of the northeast that seemed to be paved forever, though, living up to the stereotype.
