I don't know about that whenever we have "fund raisers" around here it's like pulling teeth to get people to cough up money.

By "fund raisers" do you mean; birthday presents, wedding gifts, baby shower gifts, last day on the job gifts, etc., for co-workers (for whom I've never spoken to.)

If you work in a mid-size to large company it seems like that nonsense happens at least once a week.

I'll contribute money if it's for someone I like and/or someone in my department--otherwise forget it. I just cross off my name and pass the envelope to the next person.

Just because I work in the same building as the Sales and Marketing Department doesn't mean I'm going to fork over money for one of their interns' wedding gifts.
