Coach K came out and made a statement supporting the fine character of Redick. Guess he didn't have any noise violations or didn't use anyone else's meal card. The double standard here is mind boggling.

Any parent should think twice before sending an athlete to Duke. Duke chooses to abandon some athletes but not others? Imagine if your kid got in a fist fight with a local? The PC Durham police and the Duke admin would suspend first then have race sensitivity courses for months. Yuck

Revenue from the basketball team supports almost every other sport. It's the cash cow and it's constantly in the public eye. It, in fact, must operate under different rules.

Note that when the lax players had violations no public statement was necessary because no one cared and trumpeted it all over the media. Even absent the lax issue, JJR's violation would have been front page news requiring a response from the coach.
