My buddy crashed in full race gear and still lost a leg when he wrapped it around a guard rail.
Motorcycles aren't worth it.

You're right. I would never even take a ride on one.

I guy dumped his bike in front of my van on a curve of an on ramp. Some gas spilled out of what I guess was a truck and left a slick streak all around the curve. He hit that and it looked like he hit a patch of ice.
He ended up slinding on his hands and knees on the pavement. Luckily, I didn't run over him, as I was a safe distance back. I stopped to check on him and he was okay, just a bit bloody with stones imbedded in his hands and knees.
He had leather gloves on, and leather pants cover his jeans which I believe gave him a little extra protection as opposed to no gloves and only jeans. That was scary for me and him.

I left my right foot hanging off the front bumper of a Camaro. Bikes do not have any leg protection and if the damn thing hits fixed object the rider becomes ballistic. Riding motorcycle can be about the most fun thing you can have with your clothes on, but risks just ain't worth it.
