That last part should have read:
"I am not very tech savy...."
Just kidding. The light bulb may be bad. I've seen that even in new projectors.
Are you using a desktop or laptop?
Does the light come on but the projector just projects a blank (usually blue) screen? Or is it dead?
Really? That is surprising. We will have to check that. This has been pretty frustrating. We have actually had the unit for 2 weeks and haven't been able to use it yet.
We started with a lap top and ended up being advised to purchase a desktop, which we did.
It isn't displaying anything at all on the wall. No light, blue screen or anything else.
What kind of connector do you have running from the projector to the computer?
It sounds like it isn't hooked it correctly or the machine doesn't read the projector correctly when it is connected.
Usually when you start one of these up they will go into standby and the bulb will stay off. You then press and hold the start button (a light may be blinking in the meantime signifying stand by mode) which then starts the lamp.
If that doesn't work, it may be a bad bulb...or you might check to make sure the lens isn't covered by its cap... ;-)
You know, I am not sure. I don't think it is an s cable, optical perhaps? LOL. I know nothing about wires I'm afraid. I am acutally trying to help my husband find the answer to this and I can't ask him right now. I know a little about computers but wires and connections....zip.
Is there gas in the tank?
It was up and running before the man who installed everything left. To my knowledge nothing was changed from what he did. It worked until we shut the computer down and the next time we couldn't get the projector to come on or display anything.
yeah...
I don't know without really looking at it.
There should probably have been a set of drivers to set up the projector and from what you said, the guy set it up.
I kinda doubt it's an S cable but without looking, I can't tell you :)
Also..........Some computers also require you depress the 'F8' key so the computer 'send' to an LCD device.
Good Luck!
:P ;)
If the bulb is lit but the unit's not getting a signal it should still be projecting something (blue screen with a message indicating no signal). So - is the bulb lit? Is there a blinking light (standby)?
I certainly hope that is all it is. :)
