Listening to many journalists--including Helen Thomas and many so-called "intellectuals"--in discussions, I am struck by how facile their arguments are, how poorly thought out their positions are, and how little intellectual and philosophical grounding they have. Of course, Thomas was "educated" before the romantic notion of the journalist crusader became extant in universites, but I believe that ignorance to be partly a result of journalism tracks in higher education being the second easiest of the majors. Without some culling in the course work, many physically attractive, but empty-headed, people ascend to the top of the "profession."
"But I have to keep reminding myself that, as Napoleon said, we shouldn't necessarily ascribe a bad act to evil when it can be ascribed to ignorance and/or incompetence."
There are certainly useful idiots in their ranks, but don't ever imagine that Satan is not behind leftism.
