Saturday Morning Line at the Belmont.

Belmont morning saw the sun peeking its way between some heavy-looking clouds. There is plenty of standing water on the roads.

The forecast for the day is not too bad: windy and cool with some sun to break through the clouds throughout the day. It's supposed to dry out. The temperature at post time should be 71 degrees.

Bring a jacket.

The two stakes on the turf course today should be interesting. In yesterday's Hill Prince Stakes (gr. IIIT), run over a soft Widener course, 3-year-olds pretty much clicked off :24 quarters in the mile race in :24.03, :48.07, 1:12.44, and 1:36.74. That was before last night's cloudburst.

I can't toss Oh So Awesome.
Can run all day. Trainer is very good.
Jockey not a strong point. Shoulda put the Mig on him.

I'm in for a live thread. Have to run out and do some chores so I might miss the start.

That's the only way I could drop 4 of 12. Can't find much wrong with the rest.

I'm a bit late on handicapping today, but 7 and 11 both look like great races no matter what the stakes.

OK - I'll get one ready :~)

Like I said, this one kindof snuck up on me, I'm trying to get a handle on the TV coverage... looks like it's ESPN from noon eastern till 5, ABC at five, race time at 6:35 eastern? Have I got it?

I probably should toss Double Galore, but...

Grand Slam(Gone West)

Squall Linda(Summer Squall)

Summer Squall, of course, is a Classic winner(Preakness).

Double Galore is related to Charismatic, Commendable, Came Home...Call me stupid, but I'll have to leave him in my exotics(not to win though).

Double Galore, also some Secretariat and Northern Dancer.

What's bothering me is the trainer, who is he? Where'd he come from? Luzzi alone wouldn't be a problem, but combined with Cho it leaves me concerned.

He's a California trainer, kinda wacky. Likes to throw horses into big races, that seemingly have no shot.

"Likes to throw horses into big races, that seemingly have no shot."

Yes, now I see. All of his horses are long odds, but his ROI is respectable.

So now that I'm clear on Cho, it may be that Luzzi won't be too bad for DG.

Luzzi is 41.9% in the money.

OK, you've convinced me. DG undeleted.

I hate to have to use him. Just think he might get a small piece at a huge price.
