Open Letter to CNN in response to false reporting

I was recently appalled by the footage of the alleged artillery attack on “innocent Palestinians picnicking on a beach in Gaza.” From the very start of the video it was quite apparent that the whole thing was staged. There were no visible signs of blood and body parts along the beach as described in your reports. The girl, whose parents were killed, did a wonderful job of acting despondent; that was until after she was told she wasn’t needed anymore and was clearly seen casually walking away from her “dead” mother and father. Also, the emergency personnel did a great job only running when the camera was on them. As you could clearly see them walking around quite casually until they realized they were being filmed. In addition at the end of this video of alleged carnage, the dead father actually gets up!! You’ve got to be kidding me!! He turns over and gets up just seconds after you’re intrepid instigator, uh I mean reporter, reports his horrific death.

It is a grievous and heinous act to misrepresent the truth as you’re news agency has done. CNN does not deserve any credibility and does not deserve to exist in my country. CNN has too often made efforts to construct news, and this time they have gone way to far over the line. I sincerely wish for the demise of your organization.

At the rate CNN is going, they're going to take themselves off the air anyway. Their ratings have been spiralling for years. And a good thing too--their irresponsible reporting is reprehensible.

Do you really think CNN would be so clumsy as to not cut the film in time? They've been lying for years. They are better at it than that.

No they weren't - at least not in real time.

When this video first appeared on CNN's web page it was about 3 min long. Among other things it contained a first attempt by the little girl to throw herself across her dead parent - missed and had to do it again.

The video has now been cut down to 45 seconds and lots of the initial mistakes have been edited out. The same goes for the BBC version which now contains some very artistic cuts in MTV mode - much too fast for the unsuspecting viewer to become suspicious. But BBC also showed the initial 3 min version before it was cut and edited.

A lot of us call CNN the "communist news network" for a reason.

They are part of Pravda West. Not particularly worse than CBS or ABC or NBC or the New York Times or Washington Post, etc.

Yes, he's there the whole time. Lying very still and playing dead not so very well. And after the little girl "throws herself" on her "mother" she is seen soon after casually strolling away as if her part is over and she needs to go freshen up in her trailer.
