LOL, that's a great story.

When they go down the wrong road, a series of swift kicks in the ass are the only hope. The strong hand of a solid cop friend was surely a blessing and shows the other side of the LE coin that is so absent from the Duke case.

Good luck to you and your boy. I sincerely hope he continues down the right path. He is off the drugs, isn't he? Meth has ruined so many lives and is hard to kick. But the younger ones like your son can make it if they try hard, pick themselves up when they fall off the wagon, and DO NOT have families that enable the behavior of addiction and substance abuse, which you clearly do not.

I agree that people automatically blame the parents. In some cases it's warranted, but in some it isn't. It's not a cut-and-dried issue.

He is off the meth. It was been a 2 step forward, one step back process, but it is finally starting to come together. He has alway as been his own worst enemy.

He is 25 now and started down the drug road at 15. It is sad because of my 3 sons he is the most intelligent and has a heart of gold.

He lives at home and forks over his rent every payday. It goes without saying, I watch him like a hawk.

Meth is bad stuff and the scum who makes it & sells it are the worst of the worst. It turned my son into a monster when he was tweaking. I hated what he had become. Pure hatred.

But mother's love being what it is, I remembered the little boy he once was and fought like a tiger to make it as hard for him to continue his habit as I could. I used to tell him if he wanted to kill himself he can do it with any help from us and refused to let the fear of a psychotic tweaker ruin our lives. In fact I told him that when they put him in the ground I will be able to say I did everything I could.

He thanks me for it now.
