My first impression was that you're driving someone and they see where you're going and they don't want to go there. She creates an excuse and then takes off. The guy could've said she was mad at me, or she got upset with me and she tried to walk away. BUT, he doesn't say that.

He does say he CHASED her down, that can be read as she was running at some point.

But, if she's crazy, our assumptions will be off.

The article may not contain all that the BF said in that statement, but then again maybe it did. I'm not saying you're wrong at all. I'm just saying that there isn't enough info, imo, to extrapolate a conclusion as to why she got out and took off. I'm just saying that it may have been something he said that set her off. She's obviously not in real good control of her emotions, that is for sure.

There is a Creedmoor Road in North Raleigh not too far from the Wakefield hotel and a long way from the Mangum's Durham Charles Street address. I don't know if there is a Creedmoor Road in Durham.

Well this is very interesting. I was over at Duke to take my son to a lax traveling team tryout several weeks ago. Talking with the other parents, someone there said that there was something related to this case to come from UNC. I guess he knew what he was talking about.

I'm getting the impression that NiFong's game is: "Well, that's all the detectives gave me". Except I believe that Himan was designated special hitter by NiFong.

That would involve personal discussions between them and it looks like a plan was devised as to what to include and exclude in an effort to get the indictment.

I'd say they're both in trouble. A DA has a very special role: not to just prosecute but to find the TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH. (That oath was written in a very particular way for a reason.)

Your story has eerie echoes of other miscarriages of justice. After the Fells Acre Day case up here in Massachusetts where an AG intent on running for Governor went to extraordinary lengths to create a case out of nothing, whipped up mass hysteria, brought all the loonies out of the woodwork, gave 15-minutes of fame to nobodies, and legitimized all kinds of 'recovered memory' nonsense I would not trust our legal system.

I am disappointed that Dorothy Rabinowitz, former(?) WSJ writer, has not applied her skills to the Duke case. She did a tremendous job helping to get those convicted in the Fells Acre case out of jail. Alas I believe she has retired.

Unfettered power, blind ambition, arrogance, corruption, malevolence, and plain stupidity and incompetence are all on show in the Duke case. It is sad but true that these are in danger of being the hallmark of our legal system.

I hope that the parents of the LAX players have enough juice to make an impact on the entire judicial process in NC.

Nifong has to sit there and take this terrible beating because if HE forwards a motion for a gag-order, he will be surgically dismantled by these defense lawyers. They would have a press conference, before the ruling, and unmercifully show the choke holds, the DNA predictions, the DNA backoff, the Condoms, the stolen money, the shots of him using the first 911 call as independent evidence of the players behavior, the shots of him saying that if the AV said 20 and then 3 - it would not be relevant, the comments on her previous gang-rape allegations, his 25 interviews detailing the Hospital finding of signs, symptoms, and injuries consistent with sexual assualt, his Date Rape hints, his timeline, his election forum, his claims that they were not cooperating, his hooligan comments, his interpretation of the racial aspect of the crime making it that much more offensive, etc, etc.

Then the lawyers would try to show that in court or submit it into evidence
