It seems that Bob and John and Sweetnorthernsaint have been circling one another all spring, but only once have their paths crossed, and neither had much to show for it. Both disappointed in the Kentucky Derby, but then Sweetnorthernsaint went on to the Preakness Stakes, while Bob and John returned to California to await the final leg of the Triple Crown, the June 10 Belmont Stakes. On Wednesday, they continued on divergent paths. Sweetnorthernsaint was officially removed from consideration for the Belmont, meaning no 3-year-old will compete in all three legs of the Triple Crown this year. Bob and John, however, signaled his readiness for the 1 1/2-mile Belmont with a swift, best-of-the-morning drill at Santa Anita.

Agreed. I wonder what they've got on the hoof of the bad leg.
"And adding that little bit if height so he's even with the other side is more important than we might think, standing with legs at two different lengths would lead to pains in all kinds of places."
Take it from me! My SEVERE butt pain incurred last year - probably "loose butt joint" and nerve-related - has been GREATLY improved not just from time and PT, but by wearing lifts in my right shoes. My right is too short for my left, and was causing more problem in my butt than it needed when injured.
For some reason, 20 and 2:14-2 @ 1-3/8 keep popping in my head when I think of it. That other was child's play. ;-)
I had a friend who had some degree of back pain for years, and quite by accident, discovered that her legs were not the same length.
She started wearing some kind of lifts on the short side, and surprisingly, or not, she was really sore for about a week while all the muscles and ligaments adjusted. After that, though, no more back pain. It was all from being off-kilter.
"...her legs were not the same length."
Was her name Eileen?

People can also sit unevenly - a friend of mine who is a D.O. (Osteopath) told me to put a thin book under my right hip when I was driving and my gas/brake foot wouldn't get so tired on long trips. It worked.
Sounds like a good tip :~)
