The White Sox-Cubs brawl that we enjoyed recently was certainly an interesting one.
Two heated intra-city rivals coming to blows on the diamond, punches thrown, punches landed, fan bases invigorated, ejections and controversy all the stuff of a great baseball scuffle. However, as engaging as it was it's not even close to being among the greatest of "basebrawls." So in honor of the recent North Side-South Side bloodlust, let's take a look at greatest baseball fights in history.

Billy Martin... punching out Dave Boswell in front of a Detroit bar.
I was at the game in Fenway in the 70's when Thurman Munson came crashing in on Carlton Fisk while Gene Michael was trying to squeeze him in. A fight broke out and Fisk just pounded Munson or Michael on the back. It didn't last long, but it sure was great to see them go at it.
LOL
I think he had to happen on the field :)
Fisk was pretty tough... for a gay.
Here's one I remember watching as a kid: Tigers -Twins, 1982. Detroit pitcher Dave Rozema took a flying kung-fu kick at Minnesota's John Castino. Rozema was a promising pitcher at the time, and tore up his knee but good doing that stunt.
I was there! I'll never forget it!
