I couldn't get a copy of it, I read it in the Congressmans Office when it was a bill.

Sadly I think that reflects the beliefs of many, including many here on FR, namely that America is what it is almost as if sheerly by happenstance and coincidence than actually due to what people that live here and have lived here have done to make it what it is.
As such, they think that the U.S. is impervious to the types of things that have brought other nations/empires/governments down. In fact, our government as it was actually intended and originally created has already been brought down and that is evidenced by the notion that our senators and many congressmen seem to believe that they can do whatever they want in spite of what the overwhelming majority of America, you know, their constituents, actually think, believe, and want for their states and for the country.
