Barbaro and team had a hard day today. Dr. Richardson said he would have bad days and this was one of them. This is from the Tim Woolley racing site.
Update 172: Thanks for your patience today. Barbaro did show some level of discomfort with his new cast. They decided to replace the cast, change the angle slightly and see if that helps his comfort level. During the change they were able to confirm things happening beneath the cast were fine (there was no obvious reason for the discomfort). Dr Kathy Anderson, who had not seen the most recent radiographs until later this afternoon, said she was "thrilled" with the actual bone-healing process. More updates will likely be forthcoming, but please, keep good thoughts for Barbaro, today was a tough day for all involved.
Oh, no! We don't want Barbaro to *ever* have a bad day of any kind!
Gosh, I hope this doesn't mean he had to go through anesthesia and swimming pool again - but he probably did. Let's pray he's done with that for a while.
I had kinda wondered if they had to redo the left hind "lift shoe" sometimes, like when the cast was changed.
Lemondropkid - do you want to tell them about a very small issue that was in Tim Wooley's blog a few days ago and which we have not addressed here? Meaning something on the left foot that I was pretending not to notice ...
Take care, Barbaro - we're rooting for you!
BUMP the good news and thank you for the ping, R66.
So glad that all looked good when they changed the cast. Sure hope he is feeling better.
Get well, Big Boy!
