It's good news... Dr. Kathy Anderson said she was "thrilled."
In this case, I was replying to Lemondropkid31 and commenting on what LDK posted - but all who got the ping didn't know that was what I was doing, because I didn't say it.
You pinged perfectly!
Well, there *had been* something else ... on the left hind leg. Very small. They felt insignificant, so I ignored it.
But if he was uncomfortable in his cast, I wanted to mention the *other thing,* too - now that we've broken the ice on saying "bad things" like "bad day."
Right!
Har de har har. Not quite poifect!!
Perfect enough!
Thanks, I'll take it. Now, do you want me to say the word "abscess"?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Hey thanks for the ping. I want to know what's going on with this lovely horse.
This is not "bad news", really at all. I've never had a broken bone and, thankfully, none of my kids ever did. But my fool younger brother bought a motorcycle when he was eighteen or nineteen. First time he rode it, the silly thing took this street bike out onto....someplace definitely NOT meant for the machine. First time out he hit a rock, or something, and went over the handlebars. Dumb bike hit his leg and gave him a beauty of a break.
He was in a cast for a long time. Healed beautifully, but the cast drove him nuts. He was always complaining. Bet that's Barbaro's problem. He's healing beautifully, so far, but is having cast anxiety and irritation.
Hope the change of cast settles him back down. They need to keep him as distracted as possible. With my brother it was books and TV. With Barbaro I guess lots of attention and as many visitors as possible to fuss over him.
You all have a great evening.

OK, I take it back. It's probably gone by now, anyway. There!
You are so right. I've never had a cast on, either. I'd be a terrrribly impatient patient, itching all the time, if nothing else.
Barb'o has his peppermint game and the "girls" who flirt and lots of company. Bet he hasn't written all his thank you notes yet, either. I never got one! Probably hasn't even read all his mail yet! So, he *does* have things to do, sweet boy.
Betcha there was a skeleton crew last night on the 4th and he perhaps didn't like having one less person's attention ... he *is* a rock star, as we know. But a down-to-earth one, of course.
Prolly just needed Doc R around for reassurance. I just don't like it when he has to be put under and in the sling too often. (Not like they asked me my opinion, lol.)
You mean the abcess? It's all gone now. The farrier scooped it out and he is on topical antibiotics. Dr. Richardson said that it is not serious.
Oh about the swimming pool, yup, had to go through the WHOLE thing all over again. We should know some more sometime tomorrow morning from Alex. Hopefully he will see Peter or Micheal and they will either have seen Barbaro in the morning or they will get a call from the Doc.
BUMP! Thnaks for the report/update!
No problem. I will try to get more information as soon as I can in the morning.
Thanks!
OK - hurray! I knew they said it was small and didn't seem concerned - but who are they? Just his doctors, not his fans like us, lol. Just teasing.
I will assume it's gone then! Swish, swish. *washing my hands of that topic*
Thank you, thank you. Most appreciate any news!
Settle in, Barbaro! Get comfy again.
