What bothers me most is not the historical inaccuracies of the book and it's promotion but the fact that Brown is Jewish.
For generations there has been an unwritten understanding in Hollywood that the Jews (who dominate Hollywood) and their largely Christian audience would consider each others religions as "off limits" to open attacks and smears. The Da Vinci Code has violated this understanding.
Something has happened in the culture which leads non Christians to believe it is safe to now declare open warfare against Christian beliefs and not only get away with it but make a profit as well.
The war against Christianity (and most especially the Roman Catholic Church) has become more bold and open.
I am not Roman Catholic or especially a devote church goer, but I have noticed this trend not only in the movies but also on talk shows and in the MSM.
The objective seems to be to denigrate religion generally and promote a secular humanist culture.
