Yes, and maybe whoever 'helped' the ho decide which player to finger next even knew about him handling the fingernails, or possibly not. They needed to find some DNA on something from her, didn't they, and somebody would certainly be smart enough to know that he or his roommate were the best shots because they lived there. I doubt if she can even spell DNA, that decision process belongs to someone else, quite possibly even Nifong (by having someone 'steer' her that way.).
One thing is for certain - I think the choice of David Evans was too convenient to be circumstance. I think he got targeted for several reasons, none of which have anything to do with him (or the others) laying a finger on her that night.
