OK, so you're trying to burn a music CD, in the burning program the files show up, but afterwards, you can't play back the CD, but the files still show up in Explorer, correct?

yes, they still show up in Explorer Did we get the QB problem more or less resolved--if so, I'll need to post that on the thread...

so, basic question, I know, but how do I create this backup folder?

What I'd do is:

-On the Desktop, right-click.
-At the menu, there should be an option called New. Select it.
-In that next menu select Folder. Name it whatever you wish (say, Backup Folder)
-Go into your program and select the Desktop in the save menu.
-Scroll over until you see your folder. Select it.
-Save your work.
-Go into the burning program and create a data CD.
-Move the folder into the correct space.
-If everything's set, start burning.
-After the disc is closed, put it back in and open it under My Computer. Verify that everything's on there.
