Had an idea for a tale involving the eldest of vampires having to stave off the plans of what would be his 'son'.
Side effect is that humanity is saved.
There was some artifact that would have made a vampire near invincible.
Did I mention that The Eldest is the CEO of a corporation, that is under a threat of leveraged buyout by the same enemy mentioned above?

It sounds plausible, but perhaps not very exciting.

A secret cabal of "artificial vampires" who use innocent and gullible young people, perhaps even young ladies who have gotten unintentionally pregnant, to provide a biological ingredient which restores youth to the cabalist, at the cost of the young lady's life.

Similar setup to that Halloween regular with Bette Midler, "Hocus Pocus."

Also has a flavor reminiscent of the Highlander.
