Yeah, they are also SOOOOOOOOO concerned that the players are going to get a fair trial as well.

wait a minute... the problem here is that this has been turned on it's head. This is not the alleged victim's trial and she has no right to a fair trial. It's the defendant(s) who have the right to a fair trial.

That always is the answer of the left to free speech they find troublesome: shut down dissenting voices. The NAACP, the ACLU, Google, and CFR; it's all about quelling inconvenient conservative ideas.

"Monica Coleman, directer of womanist and religious studies at Bennett College in Greensboro, told the gathering that sexual assault is underreported because of society's skepticism and intimidation of its victims, both subtly and not-so-subtly."
The False Accuser has undermined belief in real victims' reporting assaults.
Womanist definition:
(adj) "Having or expressing a belief in or respect for women and their talents and abilities beyond the boundaries of race and class: "Womanist...tradition assumes, because of our experiences during slavery, that black women already are capable" (Alice Walker)
(n.) One whose beliefs or actions are informed by womanist ideals.

...media coverage of the alleged rape may deprive the alleged victim of her legal rights to a fair trial. Good, put her on the stand.

The gag should have been from the first day. The prosecutor went out and made all sorts of allegations against the players.

"quiet zone/let's let justice work" Make sure we use our inside voices boys and girls.
Do they really think we are a bunch of first graders????
To: abb
It's another example of prosecutors sounding like defense attorneys, or in this case racist defense attorneys sounding like prosecutors.

The NAACP will try to intervene in the case to file a "quiet zone/let's let justice work" motion. That is otherwise known as a gag order, he acknowledged, although he said he doesn't like that term. There they go again. The NAACP is always standing up for the victims of crime. Remember the strong support that they gave to the victims in the OJ murder case. Um, well, no, they gave their strong support to the perpetrator in that case. Never mind...

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to realize two things:
1)Our constitution grants to *defendants* the right to a fair trial, not accusers.
2)The NAACP's demand for a gag order indicates that there's something (or,better still, something more) out there that will seriously hurt this gal's credibility..or even subject her to charges (perjury, filing a false police report, etc).

Get a load of this!!! Time for the Justice Dept to intervene before this gets any worse for these three boys.

Gag order isn't needed, NACCP. We who believe in innocent until proven guilty are past the gagging stage and into serious puking.

LOL - a little late for a gag order. The horses ass left the barn about 70 interviews ago.

"may deprive the alleged victim of her legal rights to a fair trial"
should have been
"may deprive the alleged victim of her legal right to a conviction of the defendants"

The NAACP will try to intervene in the case to file a "quiet zone/let's let justice work" motion. That is otherwise known as a gag order, he acknowledged, although he said he doesn't like that term. Where was the NAACP when Nifong was running his mouth giving daily interviews? Where were they when he proclaimed in front of a crowd that "My presence here means that this case is not going away." The NAACP like Nifong want to silence people now, because they know they are loosing the PR battle and this case is shining the light on the corrupt goings on in Durham.

I'm going to post my comment, then read the thread.
I am not surprised that lawyers for the NAACP don't understand the concept of STANDING!!
Why don't they just wear clown suits and arrive 9 in a little car?
