Interesting that you should post that at this time on a week-old thread. I was just reading this

From the blog you referenced in post: "On the larger scale too, much of what we see as "corruption" in contemporary Africa is merely a projection of common tribal cultural values"

The blogger, IMHO, is on the right track in discussing cultural differences (vis a vis Tribalism versus individualism); but, lol, he promotes the US Party of "tribalism". Can we say... "cognitive dissonance"??? lol.

Identity Politics in America is TRIBALISM writ large. And it is wrong. And no small wonder the usual "tribalists" condemn American Capitalism -- it doesn't fit their mold. I look at folks like Cornell West (ad nauseum) as those wanting to be the "tribal chieftans" -- and that these basically are running unofficial elections within the US, and using US TAXPAYER DOLLARS TO DO SO.

Sure, we are "culturally" in a time of "racialist" rife. But, I never forget the adage that "Money Talks and BS Walks". Ultimately, and no matter how incremental, the tribalists here in the US will lose.
