Again I will state that it isn't common for countries to have coinciding opening dates.

In part US releases in the summer are tied to holiday weekends that have no equivalent in the EU or Japan or HK or NZ or AU.

Release date scheduling is also determined so as to not be opening on the same weekend as another suspected blockbuster.

The film brought in less than $100mil opening weekend US as had been boasted.

To claim otherwise is to parenthesis box office facts the way Michael Moore did to proclaim his the biggest documentary ever (non-concert film, non-Imax, etc...).

Sorry I am confused. What exactly are you disputing with me? In the US box office dollars are $77 million. Right? That puts it #13 in terms of just US openings. I think we both agree that is the case, correct?

According to the link I posted, worldwide it opened at $224 million. The site "claims" that is #2 after Star Wars III. I believe you are disputing this claim because most movies do not open worldwide on the same date and therefore $224 million is not #2.

I believe that is what you are saying. You could be correct however the #2 worldwide opening spot is what I got off www.drudgereport.com. The poster I was responding to asked how was it #2 because he said it was #13. I was just telling him that is where the #2 spot quote came from.

Now if you have different data that disputes this, I would be most appreciative if you could send me a link to it so that we can all understand what is the truth.
