I looked on the Best Buy and Curcuit City sites. Not a lot of help there. So, I turn to the smartest and savviest folks on the planet for advice.
I want a portable unit - car and home/office. Also speakers for the latter. I have a great set of speakers in the car.
FM is dead.
I have a Roady 2 and agree about the buttons but screen is OK for my purposes. Not familiar with the SKYfi since I am not in the market for an upgrade right now. Subscription runs less than .50 cents a day for umpteen channels of music, live news, traffic and weather.
The Roady 2 does triple duty for me. Use it in the car all over town with just the long wire antenna. Occasional signal drop-off but just a minor nusiance. With an AC adapter, it works nicely at home. Also use it on the boat where it gets really excellent reception.
Thanks for checking in, sam. Deed is done. See if I can pug in all these wres.
May need some help setting it up.
Thanks Pete and all.
I'm glad you are enjoying your Roady. The panel was a bit too small for me. XM (to me) is well worth it regardless of the receiver. Hope you are as satisfied as well.
She gave a nod to it. I think I'm OK...
Enjoy!!!!
I cannot imagine why I waited so long to get this done. Listening to "Teddy Bear" on channel 10. Red Sovine.
It's amazing the addictive power XM has.
Cross country does concerts live the website is a good place to check things out cause there's always so many things going on.
btw have you figured out that you also get the lineup free on your pc?
you don't get the feeds like fox news and such but you get all the music channels. requires flashplayer 7
I've got surround and a subwoofer on this pc so they sound pretty nice...
and they did have in car transmissions during the races on 145 so while you're doing the live thread you can hear the teams talking
and on and on you'll figure it out.
I'm a big fan of 164 in the overnight while I'm driving
between XM and text messaging I and 4-5 of my friends around the country are always pinging each other to this or that channel
let me know when you figure out the W F O
I just got back from California and I'm back out the door to Twin Falls
Talk to ya later...

Yah. I realized that at four in the morning when I woke up after I had had fallen asleep with the radio on.

Seen that.

No biggie. I do not have cable TeeVee - by choice. When breaking news happens, I can log on to streams - like Hurricane Katrina.

Saw that. WCG wants XM as well for this feature. Hope she can .

Old Time Radio. Yes indeed. I can understand how that makes the miles pass.

I'll hope to find my own network for that. What? e-mail? PM?
