Do you think the PD scraped the floor of the Duke Boy's living room in the area where CGM spilled her drink? Can this be done? And to show that a "drug" was slipped into her cocktail on the premises?
I remember discussing this when we were talking about items removed from 610. Remember the rugs? Maybe this is where Nifong got his date rape drug info, but I would assume defense attys have the results of any test done on the rugs as well.
The presence of drugs would probably not be there, but there might be coloring agents in the liquor stained into the carpet that would show up. They need to depose Kim and ask her where in the house exactly the drink was spilled so they can test the carpet. i don't think there was a drink or a drug administered in connection to the house except perhaps by Kim in the form of a drink given to Mangum in the bathroom, the purpose being to rob Mangum later. I think Kim staged/provoked the argument with the boys so they would have an excuse to leave before Mangum's ride came back for her because she would have time to take Mangum away, rob her and dump her before Mangum's ride arrived.
If they believed Kim, they could have cut out that part of the rug and tested it. Not sure what it's worth though. You'd have a heck of a time proving anything about what you found. Especially with the delay and the fact that the house was not treated like a crime scene.
