Thank you most kindly. As I "hazardously" posted during the first few days of this "situation" in Durham, I come from the West -- California, San Francisco. What I have learned since arriving here defies every single lying POS stereotype being perpetrated through "education" and "politics" and "MSM" in the west. I'm drinking it all up. Now, so many more things make sense to me. It makes me also understand more comprehensively the crap "endured" in SF, and the larger picture.

I feel your pain. I lived in Illinois for three years and got the same. Victor's history. By any modern measure Sherman and Sheridan were guilty of war crimes (aggressive warfare against an undefended civilian population). Lee in Maryland and Pennsylvania refused to do so. I've wondered how things might have turned out if Lee had been willing to leave a trail of smoldering wreckage in his wake?

I'm so glad you wrote that! I moved from South Carolina to Southern California in the early 90's, just in time to experience the LA riots and the OJ trial. I'll never forget a young lady who, upon hearing I was from the South, said "you have racial problems there, don't you?"

I had no clue how to respond. My experience has been that the South is no better or worse than any other part of the country in terms of race relations. I truly believe that Durham is not representative of most Southern cities.
