I think you are right. This case represents a threat to the whole Durham establishment. I have mentioned before on a related thread that there are eerie similarities to the Fells Acre School case in Massachusetts which ruined the lives of three innocent people, as a form of mass hysteria swept first the parents then the legal system. Kind of like Salem Witch trials. This is the danger unless some object 3rd parties get involved.

Well, no matter how powerful or tightknit the Durham establishment is, they don't know who they are screwing with. The Framed are not just rich or previledged, but they are POWERFUL, nationally powerful, and powerful beyond party lines. The defense has at its head two symbols: the Republican-affiliated chairwoman of the LPGA (Rae Evans) and Bob Bennett.

Durham is a podunky town.

I don't envy this crime cabal.
