If the defense didn't have the phone or records, how did they know the service had been canceled? Someone on that site suggested the boys found the phone and called that number. I wonder if that is one of the details the defense wants from the phone records?
I find it interesting that defense counsel knew the phone had been disconnected the day after the alleged assault...

My guess is that the defense has enough private detective and sense to get the FA's number and buy the phone records. They requested this in court because a) they want to see if any text messages or photos are on the phone. b) get the record into evidence.
Makes you wonder what else they know about that phone...
