The Autonomy of the Local SB Church is one
of the many reasons I am and will be a SB.
The SBC can make suggestions and pass
non binding resolutions but the final decision
is still in the hands of the local church members. It is my understanding that the only position that the SBC REALLY frowns on is Women being the Senior Pastor. That "resolution" was passed in 2000. There are currently 1600 ordained women in the SBC and about 100 ARE Pastors.
