I don't think so.
My 40GB hard drive is split as follows:
/dev/hda1 (21GB) Windows XP--NTFS
/dev/hda2 (1GB) Linux Swap Type 82
/dev/hda3 (15.25GB) Linux Native Type 83--ReiserFS
I've got about 60% usage on both partitions. Five Suse CD's are a little over 3GB, which would strain the Windows system.
40gb HDD? what are you using a laptop?
