Yes. The film is lousy. I wouldn't be surprised to see it flop. It could rank up (or down) there with "Heaven's Gate", "Ishtar", and "The Last Action Hero."
It will probably do well this week. Then bad word of mouth and X3 will kill it. Although I have not heard good things on aintitcoolnews about X3. I'm still holding out hope.
F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby is entirely believable. Da Vinci Code has very good composition but the main premise is ludicrous and so the novel ends pathetically. I think Dan Brown is good a moving the storie along, but afterwards I end up thinking, "That was pretty thin for plot device."
Deception Point is about creating phony evidence of life from other planets on a meteorite to prove the US government's programs are working. Same problem. The novel is a good read for air travel, but at the end, I had to say, "Huh?"
