It is against the law to live in one school district and have your children attend school in another.

I guess I'll have to turn myself in. I drove my kids to the school of my choice for many years. I never lied about their home address, and no one ever questioned it.

I should have qualified that by saying "where I live". My husband is a school administrator, and cross-district school attendance is a problem here in NC where we currently live, and when we lived in GA.

Where there is already school overcrowding (trailers in the school parking lot), there is no "come one, come all" welcome for out of district folks.
