What's weird is the folks who seem to think all of Christianity is going to collapse because of the film. As I see it, 1) it'll reinforce the faithful, 2) make the curious read the bible more and more, and 3) peel off those who had no faith in the first place.

Most people know Harry Potter isn't real. On the other hand, it's easier to believe that Opus Dei is accurately portrayed in the Da Vinci Code.

What is it that has Christians so spooked about the book or movie? That Jesus had a wife and children? So what? If he had a wife and children, and still was resurrected, then there's hope for the rest of us.

Would you enjoy seeing a movie depict your mother as a prostitute and that she was not who she appeared to be to you? Would you enjoy a movie that cast your father as a lying cheat, criminal when you knew he worked hard every day of his life trying to feed you and the family?
Well - that is what it would be like for Christians following Christ. There would be no enjoyment in viewing blasphemous "stories of fiction". But, I wonder why a writer would chose to dishonor Jesus? And, I don't think I want to take his side - fiction or not. Not me. Would it please Jesus? We go to church to worship Him and then attend a movie that seeks to undercut the Christian faith? Something is wrong with that and our faith IMO.
