Wall is not a problem word for me, but I see your point--words matter and the touchy feely crowd (or the claustrophopbic sensitive) need words that make them feel nice. Security fence with ports of entry?
I don't think that the touchy feely is why I don't like the concept of the wall..
It's just a perception issue for me. The last important wall was the Berlin Wall and while it would be completely different, perception matters as do words. We get called Nazis enough thank you very much. LOL.
I think that there are much more effective, much less expensive ways to control the border, so I am for a "virtual" wall. Let's put some of our fine American technology to work. If we can keep up with speed-skaters at the Olympics, we can keep up with sprinters and swimmers. Proverbially speaking of course.
BTW, McCain's speech was very good. But I will NEVER vote for him in the primaries under any circumstances. (On the other hand, it's pretty doggone foolish for me to say never about anything...but I'm prettys sure!)
