Also true, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. other than making reports and protecting your own identity, you cannot possibly personally track that passport to whoever has it now. I would calm down in that you have zero control over those events (once you thoroughly report teh loss) and I don''t think you can assume your passport is at the center of som ecritical event. It might be interesting to find out how many are lost or stolen a year. I bet your passport has a lot of company.
