No worries I_T!

But I wouldn't go so soft on Paisley.  He made it difficult for Catholic politicians to openly oppose the IRA for 20 years.  It wasn't until Mr. Hume and others came on the scene and everyone was just plain sick of the IRA could real progress could be made.  He was not good for Ireland as a whole.

And as for Margaret Thatcher, she was a breath of fresh air for the British (though reviled even by the socialists among them) and for the entire world. She also routinely snubbed Charles Haughey and accused him of running guns up to the North in the 60's.  Maybe she anticipated the tribunal that would take place 20 years later!

Well, Haughey actually did smuggle guns to the IRA! Fianna Fail has an old habit of flirting with Hibernofascism.

There's no questioning that Ian Paisley's rhetoric made things worse in the 70's and 80's. If he hadn't existed, I think the IRA would have had to invent him!

As for Maggie, her snubbing Hawkeye is one more reason to like her!
