IN a nutshell, it appears even the PD in Durham do her bidding as well as many of the "elected" leadership in Durham.

Yes, Lavonia is a powerful figure in Durham. She inherited real estate from her family and is a slum landlord. She was also was a delegate to the last Democratic National Convention. After many complaints she supposedly sold the real estate management company to a guy named Tates and someone named Williams.

Tates is the screen name of a poster on another forum who claims to be a relative of the accused or more likely Tates himself and claims to have inside information on the case. Both Tates and Williams took off with hundreds of thousands of dollars of rent money, lost their real estate licences and were apparently shut down.

Williams is or was a policeman in the Durham Police Department (in spite of his record) in the criminal investigation division. Who better to understand the criminal mind than...well, you get it.

There was an Officer Williams who either put together the PowerPoint presentation of Duke lacrosse players and/or picked up and questioned the cab driver. Could be the same Joe Williams.

I have heard that one of the defense lawyers has hinted that this entire fiasco was a set-up by individuals involved with the Durham Police Department. I haven't been able to find that quote or identify which attorney.

postscript: In case you missed it, Crystal registered to vote twice within a ten day period from two different addresses. Some politician is appreciative.
