I'm still looking at xo's clues. He/she posts this on 04/29/2006:

FReeper asks:
"We keep waiting for the DA to have something - anything - other than CM's testimony. I'm searching for reasons why he went forward with this case."

xo answers:
Go downtown and see the Good Judge. For he has
a long memory. (RS)

At first I thought that "RS," meant Resident Superior Court Judge Orlando Hudson, but now I see that "RS," is probably Ronald Stephens.

Still haven't figured out what xo means by it.

xo's first post was an article about an early 90's SBI investigation into a prostitution ring run by the members of the Durham PD. The DA at the time was Ronald Stephens, now the judge in this case. Hence the reference to his "long memory."

The best I could decipher, xo seems to be suggesting major corruption within the Durham Police Department. Considering the sweeheart deals both Mangum and Roberts received for serious crimes, it would seem that they have a special relationship with law enforcement.

That's my guess at to what he's hinting at, but your guess is as good as mine.
