The DNA was sent for retesting before the end of April and everyone was reporting the the results would come back in a few days...suddenly the DA said the results wouldn't be in until May 15. It sounds like he got a heads up from the lab that there was semen, but they couldn't match it to the players. That's when he decided to test the boyfriend in order to rule him out and it backfired.
If he had investigated before the indictment, he wouldn't look like such a fool now. Of course, he might've lost the election and that is what this is all about.

The "boyfriend"s May 3 swab explains the "good news" FA's parents told Megyn Kendall. The lab probably pulled a DNA profile by then so Nifong used this to keep the False Accuser in the case. Her family might just be dumb enough to believe this is good news.

You hit it! That's exactly why those results -- due any day several weeks ago -- were delayed until now.

Very astute observation- I forgot about the "delay". The mystery DNA was a total surprise to the DA. Still, the DNA belonging to the boyfriend was the best result he could hope for. Of course, if the boyfriend turns out to be the middleman, that could be huge.
