Well, *anything* played by Chris Walken later just scares me on general principle.....:D

The bright side is that the *good* angels who did not rebel understand and accept God's will for us and "watch over us".

I absolutely believe in demons.

Years ago I read a couple of books on comparative mythology [one of which was "Angels, Aliens & Demons" and the other was called "Men In Black", if memory serves.

Both books focused on the possibility that *all* world culture's mythologies of devils, fairies, elves, etc. were based on the actual existence of demons.
Demons are/were smart to to "shapeshift" to fit any given particular culture's mythological bent and technological progress.

For us, they appear as 'wise and powerful aliens' from other planets.
For the Irish, they were fairy of the Sidhes...to the Indians, they were great spirits...and so on and so forth.

If that's what they're doing, it's brilliantly evil, really.

But then we have this;

Do not neglect to show hospitality
to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Hebrews 13:2

I'm sure I'm not the only person who's ever had a seemingly random "stranger" do something spectacularly kind or generous for no *apparent* reason...a stranger who made us feel awed or peculiar in their presence.

Makes ya wonder....

Occam's Razor: Don't look for a complicated, implausible reason when a simple, rational one will do.

Maybe you simply met a benevolent person who merely felt like doing something nice. No need to invoke the Supernatural.

Nice to see even tempered wisdom on such a thread!

Thanks.

See now, the problem i have with this, is that it suggests humans arent worth showing hospitality toward, but let's do it anyway cause maybe there is an angel among them.

My wife and I were downtown, specifically to serve God one night. Some people had run out of gas, so we ran to the gas station and got them a gallon. After we returned, as I was filling up their tank, a homeless guy came up and asked my wife for some money. Now, here's the weird thing. She didn't get the normal 'vibe' off this guy. She said there was something profoundly different about him- he had a particularly joyful demeanor, and he was soft spoken and polite. There was no smell of alcohol or filth.

She gave him a couple of dollars. When she handed him the money, she said his hands were incredibly rough- like he had these unbelievable callouses on his palms.

She turned around for just a moment, I was maybe ten feet away, filling up these people's car and talking to them about the Lord. When she turned back, the guy was gone. Just not there anymore, and on an open street.

We think that this may have been an angelic test, or an opportunity to sow a blessing of generosity, that we could later receive.

There is also demonic influence and demonic possession of the soul or thinking faculties of man. For the beleiver in Christ, we are sealed with His ministry and indwelt by Him.

This is not yet the case for the unbeliever.

Considering how many different people there are in our own understanding and how many different species in the zoo, I sometimes wonder how many times we might be exposed to different demons and simply associate their presence with a different human perspective, when in reality we might actually encounter something far more sinister which we have been given ample warning to discern.

On the other hand, when you do bump into one and it is obvious, there isn't much room for doubt.

I for one am not going to poke fun at the theme of this post. If we believe what is written in the Bible, we know there are ‘good’ and ‘bad’ angels. There are twice as many of the good, under the leadership of Michael and Gabriel. We are told that a third were thrown out of heaven with Lucifer.

Scripture also is clear on the ‘nephilim’, the protegy of the fallen angels. If we read with any understanding in the first few chapters of Genesis, coming up to the time of Noah, we see that there was an attempt by Satan to corrupt the seed of the woman to prevent the coming of the Christ, the Messiah. We are told that Noah’s seed was perfect (not corrupted) and that is why he and his were chosen to survive the flood.

There is a fair bit quoted from the Book of Enoch. The Book of Enoch was known to writers in the New Testament. I am not one to ridicule what is attributed to Enoch here.

We also know that the fallen angel influence must have continued, as we see evidence of ‘nephilim’ after the flood. The giants in the land, for instance.

I have also wondered if some of the creatures in mythology might have actually existed, again from fallen angel experimentation with animals - just a thought.

So, is there any probability that ‘aliens’ are among us as nephilim today? I would think this is possible. I do not believe we are being visited by beings from a creation in another world. There is much to ponder in what this author wrote in this posted thread.
