who conducted the "lineup" where she was shown only photos of lacrosse players - and told "pick out who it was"? That's not the way you operate a fair lineup, by including only persons from the pool of possible perps.

The cops were told to do it that way even after the cops told the DA that it was improper. IOW, the cops were POd at the DA and intentionally let Nifong screw it up.

The cops knew the kids were innocent and the screwup on the line-up made the ID of the two players inadmissable. The cops helped to prevent the prosecution of the players.

Believe me, I have no great love for most cops; but in this case, the cops did nothing wrong. Nifong ran all aspects of the investigation, and the cops let him screw it up by himself.
