Maybe someone can help--would the fingernails appear differently if they had been scratched or yanked off as opposed to her polishing them before putting them on? I guess I'm asking if we know the condition of the nails?

Secondly, aren't there photos of her without the nails?

There are a couple of problems with the nails. It's unclear whether she arrived with missing nails, or if a couple were unpainted. It's possible she was painting only the ones that were still clear, but that leads to more confusion.

Originally they were talking about red nails, but when they found pink nail polish smeared on the porch railing they quit talking about the "red".

If she arrived at the party with red nails and was missing a couple, she could've decided to remove them and apply new ones. This fits with the defense finding unpainted nails and smeared nail polish. I doubt that she would've painted them before application. She would've had to lay them out on a paper towel or tissue to avoid getting nail polish on the bathroom counter and nothing like that is noted. Also, she would've had to wait for the polish to dry before she could apply them and this doesn't fit the smeared polish.

Also, if she used another glue, her nails would've stayed on longer and had DNA that was not consistent with the the players.
