I thought the part about ordering a black stripper may be Urban Legend.
Nifong has supposed told multiple people in the accuser's family about DNA tests and he has violated NC Bar rules as to making predjudicial public statements about a case that hasn't been tried, so if he has someone updating community leaders in black neighborhoods that would be consistent with Nifong at this point - Sadly.
I think we should ALL QUESTION the Durham PD comments.
After, all didn't we just hear that Duke's actions were hampered by a lack of diversity. The same thing should apply to Durham Police. We don't know how diverse the Durham PD is, so all information disseminated should be questioned. We should know the Racial, gender, sexual orientation, and politial affliations to see if they are a truly diverse group. Otherwise, all data and decisions emanating from this group will most likely be skewed by inherent biases and limited cultural experiences. Do we know if a white officer was dispatched to question the players that night? The report tells us that a non-white officer would most likely have, due to a cultural divide and lack of awareness to the White experience, been less inclined to believe the lacrosse players and be inherently distrustful of their statements. Do we know if the police officer has been properly trained in dealing with young, white men? This is critical. If officers are not trained and attuned to dealing with these citizens of the community, they will most likely not receive fair treatment by the authorities. This is extremely worrisome.
