Red Sox v Yankees--The Holy War Continues
05/09/06 | misterrob

Posted on 05/09/2006 4:03:54 PM PDT by misterrob

The saga continues in the Bronx this week. The Sox send out Beckett, Wakefield and Schilling. The Yankees counter with Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina and Shawn Chacon.

The New York Post ran a back cover story questioning why anyone has not dared to throw at David Ortiz.. (maybe because he is 6' 4" and weighs 250 lbs) Sox offseason pickup Josh Beckett returns to Yankee Stadium for the first time since Game 6 of the 2003 World Series.

Series returns to NY after an abbreviated series last week in Boston where Boston fans expressed their true feelings about Johnny Damon.

This lead may even be enough for Seanez to hold....

Rudy should throw at someone.....

Then beat the snot out of them when they charge the mound. He trains with UFC fighters in the offseason.

Oh, I'm sorry... I know you are in Virginia (or somewhere in Orioles-Washington Nationals country). I didn't realize YES was in Virginia. You don't get NESN thru a MLB package?

I have to admit these baseball media territories confuse me... We are about 20 miles north of Hartford, CT and can only get NESN with our "expanded digital" Cox Communications cable, yet the same cable system carries both NESN and YES in the Hartford area.

My stepson lives in Los Angeles... he and his roommates have some MLB satellite package (I don't know which one). He's an Oakland A's fan, but he sometimes watches Red Sox games on NESN (including all the local MA-RI-CT commercials - businesses he will never patronize as he's 3,000 miles away).

So far I see a continuation of a pattern that troubles me. Beckett does not come prepared to play.

Brilliant.

That must be part of that nasty "blackout" policy I've heard about the MLB package...

Actually, the game isn't really "blacked out" if you're watching it... what am I saying? lol

Too bad you just can't subscribe to NESN wherever you are in the US...

Last weekend when the Sox were home against the O's, we were blacked out for the Saturday game because the Nats were home. And that's with MLB package.

Wow... that's crazy, IMO...

Thanks for that info, though. There's no guarantee we'll live in New England forever. Nice to get a heads up on how the MLB package works (at least currently) if we ever have to move. If MLB is the only way we could follow our Red Sox on TV, we'd subscribe to it also.
