I don't know the other candidates, but that was the impression I got from Freepers who do. Evidently the three candidates were Bad, Worse, and Worst.
It's like Landrieux running against Nagin for Mayor of New Orleans. Nagin may be a spaced-out drug addict who screwed up in the clinch, but at least he's amusing. Landrieux is efficiently corrupt, which is much worse.

"Tis amazing what poor choices some folks get to make. My real question is this...if all the choices are bad, worse, and even worse, then where are the decent folks and why are they not running? Isn't that abdicating their responsibilities to their own damned community? Is it no wonder we get clowns like Nagin, Blanco,and dirtbags like the Durham D.A.? If the good folks run and hide, then the rats continue on their merry way and screw up society.
