I have the horrible feeling that somebody with money will settle with this petty whore rather than let another year be wasted in a tabloid trailer-park world. And her standing down will enable the DA to look tough but disappointed, and the whole effect of this payment will be about as productive as paying terrorists ransom for kidnapping. I don't think the guys or their families who are bankrolling the defense are going to cave and settle. I don't think they're going to give her a payday and sacrifice their futures. I think the lawyers understand that complete vindication is possible and they're going to go for it.
