There was no growth with him. His WOW factor dissipated weeks ago and his sameness finally caught up with him.

Problem is he has 20 times the stage voice of any of these finalists. I am still Wowed every week 'cause he's so damn good. He's going to be a great recording artist, and will be around long past the rest.

I am not sure where Taylor has grown, he's doing the same act all season, and it's not an act that deserves a recording contract. I like Taylor, and have enjoyed him, but he bored me by the time the final 12 were picked.

I'm just glad Daughtry's eyeliner didn't run.

Amen to that. He just short punched Chris in the mug with how he delivered it.

Simon is thinking about the lost album sales that just walked out the door tonight.

Because this isn't a beauty contest, that's why. It's about who sings better. The bombshell bombed on 3/4 of her last songs. Bad high range, not so great on the low stuff. She wants to be a diva but doesn't have the talent to pull those tunes off.

I think they just ran out of time, I don't think they did it intentionally.

He's got a pedestrian rock voice. Maybe that's all it takes to wow rock fans nowadays, but he wouldn't have gotten out of the fifty cent draft night at the McLeansville Hammerjack's back in Seventies or Eighties.

#1 gets a guarantee. I wasn't aware that #2 is guaranteed one but it would a foolish decision if they didn't.

I don't see what people considered so WOW about Chris. I can turn on the Alt. rock stations and hear guys just like him. He might be as good as those singers but it's nothing new that anyone who knows that music will tell you.

That said, I certainly enjoyed watching him this year and found him to be a steady consistant performer who had to sing stuff outside of where his career belongs. He opened a lot of people's eyes and I'm certain he will have just a few people knocking on his door really soon.

Priscella looks pregnant

I thought the exact same thing.

I thought so also. She made a point of keeping her mid-section covered during the tour.

I understand that. It's not guaranteed but AI would be stupid to let that person go somewhere else after all the time and effort they spent promoting the person. That's why I think they do a deal with them. Besides, if it is Taylor who wins Simon's company will likely pick up others.

Hey, I don't care and as a straight man I like what I see. However, if she's going to market them to men for affect then things will happen.

The option on some of these people might be as low as 100k, which is a cheap price to have complete control of some lives for years that can make you money.

Slaves of celebrity

Kelly Clarkson has a golden future, right? Maybe so. But the "American Idol" winner and her fellow finalists had to sign virtually their entire careers away to the show's producers for one shot at stardom.

By making the top ten you get $100K plus a percentage that could earn you another $50K. After the tour is up they can decide to work with you or not but that date is one year from when you first go on the show in February. And, if you do a record it has to come out after the winner's does.

Winning this thing is not the be all end all. It's great exposure for most but the winner is assured of being someone's bitch for three years. All in exchange for $1 million plus the tour cash. At the end of the 3 years you can go about your business.

In 2005 runner-ups had to wait 3 months before they could sign on to a new contract.

Mario is still under Idol’s contract; does self-effacing

Mario Vasquez has denied that a contract issue led him to quit American Idol 4. But even if he did have another offer, or even if he was upset about the terms of the contract, he’s already committed to it. Two weeks ago, he and the other “contestants signed a contract prohibiting them from recording any albums until three months after the show’s finale in late May,” according to the New York Daily News. Thus, even if he did get a better deal, he’d have to wait until August to take advantage of it.

Speak out on the TMZ message boards

(Feb. 15, 12:50PM ET) -- TMZ has learned 'American Idol' producers have applied the brakes to contestants who think they can become the next William Hung.

TMZ is privy to the "exclusivity" clause that season five contestants have signed. It basically paralyzes contestants from doing anything showbiz related until three months after the grand finale. The contract prohibits contestants from entering into "...any talent management agreement, talent agency agreement, recording contract, songwriting contract, acting contract, modeling contract, sponsorship contract, or any merchandising contract ....until three months following the date of the first broadcast of the final episode announcing the winner of the competition."

The exclusivity clause goes on to say that if a contestant signs a deal in violation of the contract, 'A.I.' producers "shall be entitled to injunctive and other equitable relief." Translation - a judge could quash the deal.

Alan Grunblatt, Executive Vice President of Koch Entertainment, signed Hung immediately after his legendary 'A.I.' audition. The 'She Bangs' kid went on the make waves in the music biz, selling 200,000 records.

Grunblatt says the restrictions for season five contestants makes it extremely difficult for any of the rejects to catch fire.

Grunblatt tells TMZ that he'd be mighty interested in signing singing cowboy Garet Johnson, who was booted after his performance Tuesday, but the contractual restrictions could be a buzz kill. There's one ray of hope - according to the contract, rejected contestants can ask 'A.I.' producers for "prior written consent" if a lucrative deals surfaces.
