CAMERON
(grim monotone)
1958 Ferrari 250 GTS California. Less
than a hundred were made. It has a
market value of $265,000. My father
spent three years restoring it. It
is joy, it is his love, it is his
passion.

FERRIS
It is his fault he didn't lock the
garage.

CAMERON
Ferris, my father loves this car more
than life itself. We can't take is out.

FERRIS
A man with priorities so far out of
whack doesn't deserve such a fine
automobile.

CAMERON
He never drives it, Ferris. He just
rubs it with a diaper.

20 years? Wow. I think I've seen that movie at least a dozen times. Classic. Thanks for the memories.

For fun, let's see if a 1958 Ferrari GTS actually existed.

This is the car used in the movie. Is it a real Ferrari?

Original and certified 1958 Ferrari 275 GTB Spyder

Original and certified 1962 Ferrari 250 SWB California Spyder (Covered Headlights)
Correct answer is : 1986 Car: Ferrari-styled Kit Car The car used in the movie was manufactured by Modena Design and Development of El Cajon, California. It's a hand-built production sports car and each one takes about six months to build. The car is not a Ferrari, but Modena's Classic GT250 borrows heavily from the looks of the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder. Modena's car also does not carry a Ferrari logo, but the prospective customer may add one if he/she wishes. The car body is composed of fiberglass hand-laid into a single mold and the 5-liter Ford V8 engine propels the car from 0-60 in less than six seconds. The car is also custom tailored to the customer's liking- they can pick the type of leather, paint, engine, audio system, and suspension.

I know...big whoop! But I'm bored and love cars, especially beautiful cars. This just gives me a reason to post pictures.
