Yes but in many cases I still have the OPTION of volunteering that # depending on the circumstances. This nonsense about everyone now being forced into mandatory ID's because the fedgov has failed miserably to protect the borders is pure idiocy and it's right out of Hegelian playbook.......problem, reaction and solution (to the problem they caused to happen).

They fail to prosecute illegals becasue there is no form of ID available to allow that prosecutuion. The employers use that same excuse when they hire these folks. It is time to eliminate that excuse with an ID that can facilitate prosecution for actions taken.

THAT is what people really fear when it comes to ID. THey are just to scared to admit that!

I'm stating only that all legal Americans have a national ID number already, it's use is another issue. The desire for a national ID card only circumvents the government doing its job of protecting our borders and prosecuting those who break our laws. I agree with your post.
