Ever since the Dubai ports deal, both sides in Congress have distinguished themselves in their hysteria. Nobody leads; everybody reacts by running around as if their hair was on fire.
The one thing Congress could do--cut the gasoline tax--they absolutely refuse to do.
They could also ask whether war is the only option for getting Iran into line. But nobody is doing that, either -- and yet Bush's continuing threats to invade or bomb Iran have to be helping to drive up oil prices, since Iran is the world's 4th biggest supplier of oil.
