should be able to, not sure how good the Mepis 3.4 is im using the Mepis 6 beta1. you can get it from distrowatch.com but like i said i'd wait for the newer version due out tomorrow(Mepis6 beta2).
I've installed and been using simplyMEPIS 3.3.2 for 1+yrs with super results as it does what I need and it plays RUSH's web streaming w/o issues or problems
I tried 3.4 LiveCD but didn't get all the streaming I wanted so I dropped it.
Now checking mepislovers.org I see that with a couple commands it appears I can get the new kplayer to do the same stuff I'm doing in 3.3 with mplayer.
As a newb, I found simplyMEPIS is a easy install with all apps I needed except the Mozilla browser & Mozilla Email which I installed.
I'm now using 3.3 on two machines and SUSE 9.0 & OpenSUSE 10.0 on two other machines-both don't seem to do streaming as well out of the box & I have tried & failed in updating them.
All machines were done in dual boot mode with WinXP cuz I wanted to be able to have a backup. However, I seldom use XP now cuz I am finding I like the stability of Linux machines over XP in addition to the security issue which was the original reason for going over to Linux.
I am actually now looking forward to learning, time allowing, more 'stuff' as I begin to 'see' the power and convenience of configuring my own machines.
